Yom Hashoah Commemorative Program and
Winnipeg Premiere of the Reading of Megillat Hashoah

Shaarey Zedek is proud to announce our Yom Hashoah service in memory of the six million and in honour of the survivors. The evening will introduce the Winnipeg premiere reading of the Megillat Hashoah with readings by clergy from the Jewish and non-Jewish communities as well as congregants of Shaarey Zedek. It will also include a memorial candle lighting by first and second generation Holocaust survivors. The evening will be enhanced by the participation of the Shaarey Zedek Choir. It is our hope that this meaningful program will be the first of many Shaarey Zedek Shoah commemorations throughout the years. Zachor - Remember. If your children do not attend a Hebrew school and you would like them to have a Jewish education or they do and you want to supplement their learning, Shaarey Zedek has a new program for you!

Interfaith Dialogue: What it Means to Me

Join us for an insightful talk, great food, and excellent company. This special luncheon is open to the entire community, men and women.
About the Speaker: Sandy Hyman has been involved with the Interfaith Round Table for the past twenty years, and was one of three Winnipeggers recognized last fall for interfaith work by the Montreal-based Canadian Centre on Ecumenism. She has always enjoyed the challenges of diversity. Learning about others and becoming aware of their traditions and beliefs has opened many doors for her both professionally and personally.
Menu: Romaine, Pear, Feta, and Red Onion Salad tossed with Toasted Candied Pecans and a Honey and Lemon Vinaigrette, Teriyaki Salmon with Roasted Baby Potatoes and Sauteed Zucchini, Mushrooms, Red Peppers and Red Onions, Dainties, Coffee, Tea, Soft Drinks and Lemon Ice Water.

Hebrew for Adults

This new integrated program will take you from the basics of the aleph bet to intermediate level reading. So whether you don’t know any Hebrew or know some and need a refresher, this is the perfect series for you.

Tuesdays, September 12 to May 29 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM

Fees: $99/M, $132/NM. Installment plan available: 50% of the fee due at time of registration. The other 50% due by Jan 3.
