What To Do When a Loved One Passes Away

The Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, located in the North End of Winnipeg on Armstrong Avenue and Main Street just across from Kildonan Park, is a cemetery rich in history and beauty.  Built in the early 1900's, this Jewish cemetery was dedicated to the beloved memory of all Jewish victims of both World War I and World War II who offered the supreme sacrifice, their lives.

Many changes and enhancements have been made throughout the years to make your visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible.  We work hard to make the grounds as peaceful and beautiful as possible. Our staff has been with us for many years and each burial is handled with the utmost respect and dignity. We have upgraded the landscaping, extended and added roadways, installed an irrigation system to assist with drainage, as well as implementing the use of one-way roads, “no stopping” and “no parking” signs to allow for better traffic flow and reduced congestion. All vehicles now enter through Gate 3 and exit from Gates 2 and 4.
