Adult Leisure Vignette

As many of you know, my dear husband, Percy, passed away on April 13.

I am taking advantage of the space allotted to me for Adult Leisure commentary to share the wonderful experience of support and compassion that was allotted to me and my family during this difficult time by all the synagogue staff.

Rabbi Green came to the hospital twice and helped Percy and all of the family prepare for his leaving this world, hopefully to a better place.

Rabbi Pinsker, Laurelle Harris Pinsker and Rabbi Green came to our home to offer comfort and support.

We didn’t have anyone to call on to lead the services every morning and evening. Estelle Raber arranged for a dedicated group of volunteers who came to lead the services. I want to publicly thank Bill Weissmann, Gerry Posner, Jerome Phomin, Sid Halpern and Cantor Mass. What a wonderful mitzvah they perform for our congregation.

The Adult Leisure group had to carry on without me for several months. Jocie Brenner, Sandra Caplan took charge so that everything could take place as usual. Thanks to all of the Adult Lesiure Committee for their comforting support.

Life goes on but we are left with beautiful memories.
