Sam and Lillian
Trachtenberg are a very special couple. I admire their tenacity and
courage in facing the aging phenomenon, “Getting old isn’t for
sissies.”
Sam, a retired
university professor, is as knowledgeable and erudite as ever. It is
only his body that is letting him down. However, that doesn’t stop
Sam and Lillian, his wonderful partner, from enjoying the things
that matter to them. Neither snow nor rain nor wind nor sleet stops
them from getting out of their house.
We enjoy the
dignified and beautiful rendition of the
Motzi (blessing over the bread) that Sam recites for all
of us at Adult Leisure gatherings.
Sam was originally
a volunteer driver for our group. He still attends our program
planning meetings.
May Sam and Lillian
be blessed with many more good years. They are an inspiration to all
of us. |
