Our Board of Directors recognizes the many volunteers who help our Synagogue programs succeed. Ben Raber was one of those special people. He served the Synagogue as Shammes of the daily minyans for a number of years, creating a warm and friendly environment for all who attended.
Adult Leisure valued Ben’s participation as a volunteer driver. He always contributed many program ideas, which he was happy to research for us. He didn’t mind being the only male member of our Committee … I think he enjoyed that status. We still miss him. * * * The Adult Leisure group is always in need of volunteers, but never as much as at the present time. All that is required is three hours twice a month to transport people to the Synagogue (11:30 A.M.) and to return them home (2:00 P.M.). We have a loyal group of volunteer drivers who have participated in this project for many years. We are all getting older ourselves. We find it harder to help the handicapped members who want to attend our wonderful afternoons.
