The Adult Leisure Group
meetings are enjoyed by people living all over the city. We try to
provide transportation, when needed, for as many people as possible.
Bus service is offered to
people living in the north end of the city, with the help of the
Asper Foundation and private donations. The bus we had been using
for this program was not handicap friendly. Alice Weissmann
(Synagogue office) and I were able to research an alternative and
more suitable bus service offered by Winnipeg Transit with special
financial consideration to our non-profit organization. Thank you,
Alice, for your negotiation effort.
We are delighted to
instigate this new and better service for our north end members.
The south end members have
always been accommodated by volunteer drivers. We are sorely in need
of volunteers who would give us a few hours twice a month on a
Monday.
It would be a terrible
shame to have our popular program cut off from people who have no
way to get to the Synagogue. |
