I
would like to share a little personal story that gave me a lot of
pleasure at one of our Adult Leisure meetings.
I was
sitting at the lunch table with Hannah Steindel who is a long time
member of our group and someone I admire a great deal. Hannah and I
were exchanging stories about the ‘good old days’. She asked me my
maiden name. I told her that my parents were Betty and Hy Mishkin.
“Oh,”
she said, “I remember Betty. She was a pretty young woman who lived
next door to David and me when we were first married.”
What a
surprise! She didn’t say whether I was on the scene yet or not. I’ll
have to ask her. |
